On Saturday morning, Hometown Laundry in Munford is hosting its second annual Free Laundry Day.
And it’s exactly as it sounds.
“This is open to anyone who wants to come,” said owner Dwayne Cole.
Anyone who wants to come by and do their laundry for free can do so. They’ll have free detergent, too, or you can bring your own.
Cole said the event was inspired by others like it.
“We saw that and wanted to do it for our community, too.”
He also said he wants Hometown Laundry to be a place where parents can bring their children, allow them to play on the floor, and not feel like they have to take them home and bathe them.
They make three promises.
“One, we’re going to make it as clean as we can. Two, we’re going to make it as safe as we can. And three, you’re not going to lose money here. If something’s not working, tell us. We want to know.”
Hometown Laundry is located on 52 Doctors Drive in Munford. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. They will serve hot dogs, chips, and drinks until they run out.
