Republican congressional candidate Charlie Hatcher will meet with Tipton County residents Sunday, July 12, during a Meet & Greet event hosted by Turner Angus Farm.

The event is set for 5:30 p.m. at 520 Kenny Lane in Covington, the site of Turner Angus Farm’s wood-fired pizza barn. Free pizza will be available, and the event is open to the public.

Hatcher is one of three Republicans, including incumbent U.S. Rep. Andy Ogles, seeking the party’s nomination for Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District in the Aug. 6 primary.

The district was redrawn during a special legislative session in May, when state lawmakers approved new congressional boundaries that, for the first time, extend the 5th District into portions of Tipton County, stretching from the Memphis area into rural West and Middle Tennessee.

Hatcher, a fifth-generation Tennessee dairy farmer and veterinarian, served as the state’s commissioner of agriculture from 2019 until stepping down in September 2025 to launch his campaign. He and his family operate Hatcher Family Dairy in Williamson County.

Organizers say the gathering is meant to give residents a chance to meet Hatcher in person, ask questions and learn more about issues affecting the district ahead of the election.
