Tipton County Executive Jeff Huffman will deliver a State of the County address Thursday evening in Brighton, giving residents an update on the county’s achievements over the past year and previewing new projects underway across Tipton County.

The event, titled “Community Awareness,” begins at 6 p.m. at Brighton Town Hall. It is organized and hosted by Tipton County Commissioners David Copeland and Jonathan Murphy, who represent District 9, and is being promoted in coordination with the Town of Brighton and the Town of Atoka.

According to event materials, Huffman’s remarks will cover the county’s achievements and key milestones from the past year, along with updates on new projects organizers say are intended to enhance the county and improve residents’ quality of life. The address is framed as a broad look at where Tipton County government stands and where it is headed.

Huffman has led Tipton County government since 1986, first under the title of county mayor and, more recently, as county executive following a change to the office’s name. He oversees county departments including planning and development, emergency management, veterans services and county budgets and accounting. Huffman is not seeking reelection this cycle, making Thursday’s remarks his last State of the County address in the role.
