Residents will have an opportunity to connect with local organizations, access community services and take part in several free events during the Community Connections Fair on Saturday, April 4.
The event, presented by the Munford High School Key Club, will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Munford High School, located at 1080 McLaughlin Drive.
Organizers say the fair is designed to bring together local businesses, service providers, emergency services and churches in one location, offering residents a chance to learn more about resources available in the community. Vendors will be set up indoors in the Munford High School cafeteria, while outdoor services will remain easily accessible just outside the building.
Several additional services and activities will be offered throughout the day, including a free community shredding event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with an on-site Shred-it truck positioned outside. Participants are limited to three banker boxes of paper per family, and organizers encourage residents to bring old documents for secure disposal.
A drug take-back initiative will also be available for the safe disposal of unused medications.
Vitalant will host a mobile blood drive during the event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the bloodmobile located outside alongside the shredding service. Organizers note that appointments are encouraged. As part of a spring promotion, donors who give blood April 3โ5 are eligible to receive a $20 gift card through the Vitalant donor rewards program and will also be entered for a chance to win a larger cash prize. Additional terms and registration may apply.
Families can also participate in a seasonal photo opportunity during โCougar and Friends Easter Photos,โ where children can take pictures with the Munford Cougar, the Chick-fil-A Cow and the Easter Bunny. Volunteers will be available to assist with photos, and prize-filled eggs will be distributed.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact jtyler@tipton-county.com.
