Before we get to the fun, we want to take a moment to celebrate something big: it’s graduation weekend in Tipton County, and we couldn’t be prouder! (Shout out to Caleb and Sadie at TRA, William at BHS, Ryder in Denver, Colo., and Hayden in Gloucester, Va., our family’s 2026 grads!)

Tipton Rosemark Academy held its graduation on Saturday, May 9. Brighton High School grads will walk across the stage Thursday evening, Munford High School celebrates Friday, Tipton Christian Academy will have its graduation on Saturday, and Covington High School closes it out Monday evening. To every member of the Class of 2026 — you did it! This community is cheering for you and wishes you all the success in life.
If you’re a young person headed to a graduation party this weekend, I’m gonna tell you what I tell my children: Make good choices. Designate a driver, look out for your friends, and remember that the people who love you most want to see you make it to whatever comes next. The future is bright — don’t let one bad decision dim it.

Trivillennial Trivia Night Think you know your Millennial pop culture? The Tipton County Museum is putting that confidence to the test with a generation-spanning trivia showdown – 10 rounds, 10 questions each, and bragging rights on the line. (We’ll be there!) At $10 per person and teams of up to six, this is one of the most affordable Friday nights you’ll find anywhere. Best of all, proceeds go directly to the museum’s expansion fund, so your competitive streak is also doing some good.

Saturday, May 16
6th Annual Cops & Bobbers Fishing Rodeo, 7–10 a.m. Grab the little ones and head to Pioneer Park in Atoka for one of the sweetest events of the year. Kids ages 1–15 get to fish side by side with law enforcement from all over Tipton County. The lake is stocked, prizes are up for grabs, and there’s even a breakfast food truck on site. Just bring your own pole and bait and let the good times bite. Parking is limited, so a shuttle will run from Atoka Elementary if needed.

Glenn Springs Bait & Tackle Inaugural Catfish Tournament, 6:30 a.m. For the serious anglers out there, Glenn Springs Bait & Tackle is hosting its very first catfish tournament and it’s a full day on the water. Fishing runs from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., with prizes awarded for first, second, and third place. Entry is $50 per boat (two anglers per boat), and you can pay at the store ahead of time or the morning of. All Tennessee fishing regulations apply, so make sure your license is current before you launch.

Munford Farmers & Artisans Market, 8 a.m.–noon The Munford Farmers & Artisans Market is back at Veterans Plaza this Saturday with a packed vendor list. Think fresh produce, cut flowers, baked goods, jellies, handmade crafts, clothing, jewelry, and enough food options to fuel your whole morning. Whether you’re stocking up the kitchen or just strolling, it’s the kind of Saturday morning errand that actually feels like a treat. Several vendors are veteran-owned businesses, which are marked in the city’s materials.

Gracie’s May Walk, 9 a.m. Gracie’s May Walk is a weekend-long event focused on raising awareness about dementia while bringing the community together in support of families affected by the disease. Saturday’s memorial walk begins at 9 a.m. on Tatlock Avenue in Covington, with a shuttle available from the park to the subdivision. The day continues with food, music, line dancing and fellowship beginning at 1 p.m. Organizers will also host T-shirt pickup Friday evening from 6–8 p.m. and a church worship service on Sunday.

Tarp Giveaway at Tipton County Landfill, 9 a.m. Keep Tipton County Beautiful and Keep Tennessee Beautiful are partnering up to give away free tarps at the Tipton County Landfill this Saturday, starting at 9 a.m., while supplies last. Brighton ARP Church Fish Fry 2026, 5 p.m. Brighton Presbyterian Church is throwing open its doors for their annual fish fry. Freshly prepared plates, warm fellowship, and live gospel music from the Crossing Jordan Quartet make this the perfect way to wind down a busy Saturday. It kicks off at 5 p.m. and runs into the evening, so come hungry, bring a friend, and leave feeling fed in more ways than one.
