The Tennessee Department of Health conducted health inspections across Tipton County during the week of June 28–July 4, 2026. With the Fourth of July holiday falling mid-week, activity was light — three establishments were inspected, including two mobile snow cone units and the pool at the Holiday Inn Express in Covington. All three passed with scores in the high 90s.

Mobile Food Units

Two mobile food units operating under similar names — and apparently under the same management — were both inspected this week, each earning near-perfect scores.

The Sno Cottage #3 (mobile) (based out of 2055 Rosemark Road, Atoka) received a 97 on its routine food service inspection on July 1. Inspectors checked the unit in the Valero parking lot at the corner of Tracy Road and Rosemark Road in Atoka. Three items were noted out of compliance: no visible thermometers in either chest freezer (item 34), a wet wiping cloth stored on the edge of the counter (item 39), and no drainboards on the three-compartment sink (item 46). No follow-up is required.

The Sno Cottage (mobile) (based out of 3600 Ray Bluff Road, Millington) scored a 98 on its routine inspection on June 30. Inspectors visited the unit in the parking lot of a Valero gas station at 1020 Old Highway 51 in Brighton. Two items were noted out of compliance: no visible thermometer in the mini fridge or either chest freezer (item 34), and no drainboards on the three-compartment sink (item 46). No follow-up required.

Pools

Holiday Inn Express Pool (120 Deena Cove, Covington) received a 98 on its routine public swimming pool inspection on July 1. One item was noted: debris in the bottom of the pool (item 26). The pool has maintained a consistent record of high scores throughout the year.
