Tipton County residents are invited to a community awareness meeting Thursday, April 30, at 6 p.m. at Atoka City Hall, 334 Atoka Munford Ave.
The event, hosted by District 9 County Commissioners David Copeland and Jonathan Murphy, will focus on severe weather preparedness.
Speakers include Eric Brill, meteorologist with WMCTV 5; Baker McCool, director of the Tipton County Emergency Management Agency; and Sheriff Shannon Beasley.
Topics will cover how residents can prepare before severe weather strikes, what county agencies do when disaster is imminent, and how to safely navigate roads during a weather emergency. Brill is expected to arrive in the StormTracker 5 SUV.
