A Munford man is facing multiple felony charges in Shelby and Tipton counties following separate investigations involving alleged communications with minors, sexual abuse material recovered from electronic devices and an allegation of sexual assault.

Corey Brandon Duncan, 35, is charged in two Shelby County cases with solicitation of a minor to observe sexual conduct and two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. Tipton County court records list three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of sexual battery, filed July 22.

July 8 arrest followed report of sexually explicit messages

The first Shelby County investigation began June 14, when Millington police responded to a report that a 16-year-old girl had received sexually explicit and inappropriate messages from Duncan.

According to the affidavit, the girl’s parents contacted police after learning Duncan had allegedly sent the messages. Officers reviewed communications between Duncan and the girl, including Instagram messages, text messages, screenshots and printouts provided during the investigation.

The affidavit alleges Duncan sent the teenager a sexually explicit message and then asked, “I’m curious how did it make you feel when you read that this morning?” and “What if I did send it on purpose?”

Investigators said some communications came through Instagram, while others were sent directly to the girl by text message.

The affidavit further alleges Duncan attempted to communicate with the girl by phone and in person before her parents were informed, and that he continued attempting to reach her after being instructed to stop all contact. The girl reportedly told investigators she was afraid of Duncan and was trying to prevent him from contacting her.

As the investigation continued, officers learned Duncan had allegedly attempted to contact members of the girl’s family and others associated with them. The affidavit states investigators were told Duncan had reportedly said to others that he had “messed up” and knew he “did wrong.”

Based on those allegations, Shelby County authorities obtained a warrant charging Duncan with solicitation of a minor to observe sexual conduct, a Class E felony.

First arrest occurred in Atoka

Duncan was arrested at 5:50 p.m. July 8 at Gateway Baptist Church in Atoka, according to the Millington Police Department arrest ticket.

The arrest ticket states Duncan was taken into custody on the Shelby County warrant charging him with solicitation of a minor to observe sexual conduct.

Court records show Duncan posted a $10,000 surety bond July 9. The case was assigned to Shelby County Criminal Court Division 9. Records reviewed July 23 listed an Aug. 11 report-to-court hearing.

Investigators searched Duncan’s cellphone, tablet and vehicle

Following the first arrest, investigators obtained Shelby County search warrants that allowed them to access Duncan’s Samsung cellphone and Samsung tablet.

According to Detective W. Carter’s affidavit, officers recovered the cellphone from Duncan when the July 8 warrant was executed. Carter also obtained a warrant to search Duncan’s vehicle, where investigators located the tablet before Duncan’s arrest.

Both devices were taken to the Collierville Police Department. Detectives downloaded the data using secure equipment and began examining the digital evidence.

The affidavit states the forensic review was not complete when the new charges were filed.

More than 400 images allegedly found

Detectives had identified more than 400 images described in the affidavit as child pornography before completing their review of the devices, according to the filing.

The affidavit alleges investigators found images involving multiple underage girls. It also alleges the devices contained split-screen images showing Duncan alongside a nude juvenile and images associated with more than one investigation.

Investigators further alleged Duncan used hidden surveillance cameras inside a juvenile’s home to capture some of the images.

The affidavit does not provide a final count because detectives had not finished reviewing and documenting all the digital evidence.

July 22 arrest occurred at Millington police headquarters

Duncan contacted Detective Carter on July 22 and asked about retrieving his Samsung cellphone and tablet, according to the affidavit.

Duncan reportedly told Carter he was nearby and was willing to come to the Millington Police Department. When Duncan arrived at police headquarters, officers took him into custody on two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

The affidavit supporting the arrest describes the charges as involving two groups of 100 images. Shelby County’s online case record lists two Class D felony counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Detective Carter told the court he believed Duncan presented a flight risk. The affidavit states Duncan had recently been released from jail, was involved in a Tipton County order-of-protection proceeding involving his wife, and had reportedly been attempting to gather personal belongings and gain access to his passport.

Shelby County court records show bond was set at $100,000 in the second case. Records reviewed July 23 listed a July 24 video arraignment and a July 27 bail review hearing.

Tipton County investigation alleges sexual assault

Duncan also faces charges in Tipton County following a separate Munford Police Department investigation.

A Tipton County affidavit states Detective Hamm began investigating July 9 after receiving an out-of-state report concerning an alleged assault said to have occurred at a Munford residence between October and November 2025.

The reported victim was 14 at the time.

The affidavit says the girl reported that Duncan had repeatedly sent her unwanted messages that made her uncomfortable. She also alleged that during her stay in Tennessee, Duncan sexually assaulted her on one occasion and slapped her buttocks multiple times.

Investigators wrote that the girl expressed fear that Duncan would retaliate if his alleged conduct were reported. The affidavit also states she had received messages about her appearance, weight and the possibility of being kidnapped.

Munford detectives reviewed evidence from Shelby County case

During the Tipton County investigation, Detective Hamm learned Duncan had been arrested in the separate Shelby County solicitation case and contacted Detective Carter, the lead investigator in that matter.

The affidavit states Detective Hamm spoke with Duncan’s wife, who confirmed Duncan had been incarcerated but he had resided at the Munford address during the time of the reported assault. Investigators also obtained and reviewed a forensic interview conducted by a law enforcement agency in New York.

A reporting party later provided investigators with copies of messages and a photograph to help detectives identify the juvenile in the digital evidence.

On July 22, Munford detectives traveled to the Millington Police Department and reviewed evidence recovered from Duncan’s Samsung cellphone under a search warrant obtained during the Shelby County investigation.

The affidavit says detectives identified three photographs within the digital evidence. Investigators described them as manipulated sexual images depicting the teenager involved in the Tipton County investigation.

The filing alleges one image showed Duncan unclothed with a manipulated image of the teenager. The other two were described as manipulated sexually explicit images involving the teenager.

The affidavit concludes that, in the investigator’s view, the evidence supported allegations that Duncan sexually assaulted the girl, initiated and continued unwanted contact with her and possessed three images identified as child sexual abuse material.

Charges shown in public court records

The file from his July 8 arrest in Shelby County lists one count of solicitation of a minor to observe sexual conduct, a Class E felony. Duncan posted a $10,000 surety bond in that case.

The file from the July 22 arrest lists two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, both Class D felonies. Bond was set at $100,000.

Tipton County’s online court record lists three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of sexual battery, filed July 22. The record does not specify a Tipton County arrest or booking date.

Court records list Blake Ballin as Duncan’s retained attorney in the solicitation case.

The allegations remain under investigation. Anyone charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
