A motorcycle wreck at Hwy. 51 and Tipton Road in Atoka has sent the driver to the hospital in critical condition.

The Atoka Police Department said a preliminary investigation shows that a vehicle was pulling out of the crossover at the intersection as a motorcycle was traveling northbound on Hwy. 51.

It left the roadway, causing serious injuries to the rider. They were transported to the Regional One Health in Memphis in critical condition.

Police chief Anthony Rudolph said the investigation remains ongoing and encouraged motorists traveling through the area to use caution and remain alert, particularly around the Hwy. 51 construction zones and crossover areas.
