A Covington resident is $4 million richer after claiming the top prize in the Tennessee Lottery’s instant game $4,000,000 Gigantic Jumbo Bucks.

According to the Tennessee Lottery, the winning ticket was purchased at Exxon Food Mart, just south of the intersection of Mueller Brass Road and Hwy. 51 in Covington.

The Tennessee Lottery does not release the names of winners unless they choose to share their identities publicly.

“The humble winner came with family and said she would use the prize wisely,” a press release from the organization said.

She is not the first person in Tipton County to win the lottery. In 2016, John and Lisa Robinson of Munford won a $1.5 billion Powerball jackpot. In 2009, siblings Millie Pullen, Tom Pullen, and Lee and Lynda Davison won a $1 million prize.

The Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation began operations in 2004 and has raised more than $8 billion for education programs across the state, including scholarships, grants and after-school programs.
