Want to weigh in on the future of Covington’s parks? Residents have one more scheduled opportunity to shape the city’s Parks and Recreation Master Plan before the planning process moves toward completion.

The City of Covington and planning firm Gresham Smith will host the second public meeting in the master plan process Tuesday, April 21. The session will open with a formal presentation of findings from the first public meeting, followed by an opportunity for additional public comment.

The master plan will guide how the city develops, maintains, and prioritizes investment in its parks system. Resident input collected during the public meeting process will directly inform the plan’s recommendations.

Gresham Smith, a Nashville-based architecture, engineering, and planning firm, is leading the effort in partnership with West TN Planning, a planning initiative operated by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. The firm holds a five-year contract with the state to provide planning services and technical assistance to local governments across West Tennessee.

The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, at the Covington Civic Center, 100 W. Washington Ave., Covington.
